One year has ended and another has already started. Christmas and New Year celebrations, if that’s what you did, are now over, and the long month of January is upon us. Whatever you are feeling right now, here we all are. Of course, January is the month of new beginnings, resolutions, and plans. Last year, I blogged about ditching the New Year resolutions. And I stand by that. Far better to focus on where you want to be at the end of the year and then work towards it. So, how does it feel to have all the opportunities that a New Year brings?

A room full of multi coloured lamp shades, all for sale and ready for you to choose what you wantFirstly, you may be one of those people who simply gets on with it. Unaffected by the changing months and years, you are always in action, moving forward, and making it happen. If this is you, carry on doing what you’re doing.

Alternatively, you may be one of those people who feels stuck in a rut. Every month, each year, is just more of the same. Obviously, if you’re comfortable with this, may continuity be your friend. However, if you’re tired of the same old, now is the time to think about what you want to do and be differently.

A blank journal, open and ready for you to write your story for 2025A new year is, though, like a blank sheet of paper. You can choose to write the story or you can let others write it for you. Weirdly, you can bring stuff into this year that you’ve been carrying around for years. Why, though, are you bringing baggage which weighs you down? Maybe, this is the year to let stuff go. Keep what helps and ditch the rest.

Obviously, you get to decide. Or, do you? Are others already making plans for you, leading you their way?

A car, with loads of bags, cases and other items on the roof. The car is clearly weighed down and, how much of all the stuff is actually of any use?Possibly, you are prioritising others and their plans, which is, of course, your choice. Is it, though, healthy to always be in second place with no time for yourself and what you want?

Critically, if you want to take charge, you can. All you do is work out where you want to be at the end of the year. List all the things you want to be saying about your year on 31st December 2025. Crucially, if you feel excited about the list, you are on track. However, if it all feels a little dull, now is the time to rethink.

If you know what to do, do it now. If you’re not sure, book an initial consultation here, and then take the next step. You know that you can do it, and you know that it makes sense, don’t you?
